We found out yesterday that Nina Magnin, our dear new friend, passed away suddenly last week. In the course of a seemingly ordinary day, an ordinary errand, an ordinary car ride, Nina's life quickly and abnormally ended - and in the wake no doubt is great heartache for her family, friends and co-workers.
We wanted to share these beautiful images of Nina and the gentle, caring touch that she shared with our community that day. We offer these to her family and friends as a celebration of a life deeply lived and love that she offered generously to us. We grieve with her beloved daughter, son, husband and friends, especially at Elysium, and will keep you close in our hearts.
We close with an image of her hands as she nourished LaTasha with her healing touch. Clearly Nina's hands were a part of her life's work, and we are grateful that we received such a precious gift.

We are so blessed to have had Nina in our community, even if for a short time. She left the world a better place with her love and giving nature.
ReplyDeleteAs I was taking photographs during the women of Thistle Farms' day of beauty (thanks to Nina's idea), Nina asked me if I would photograph hands -- her hands, the women's hands, any hands -- because she wanted to work on some of her art with them later. A good portion of the day, I spent concentrating on the firm and soft grip of her hands and am blessed I had a chance to capture her life's work on film.
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry to hear this.I enjoyed our conversation.I'm grateful for the day at the spa and I'm very grateful for the few hours that I was blessed with her conversation. We had breast cancer an common and she really was a hope shot for me.
ReplyDeleteNina wanted to use her gifts to help others - and we are grateful to have felt her healing touch. May her soul rest in peace.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that such a freak accident happened to such a beautiful person. I enjoyed the work she did with Magdalene and Thistle Farms and my personal massage she gave me. I pray that God will be with the family during their grieving process. Prayers and blessings to them.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for the loss. It was a real blessing that Elysium and Nina invited us to a day of luxury. May God keep blessings in all of our lives. I will keep Nina in my prayers. Sincerely, Sandra
